The FIS ‘Golden Thread – Information Management in Construction’ presentations are now available to view on the FIS website.
The presentations contain some really insightful thinking and thought leadership, brought together by some exceptional presenters, well worth taking the time to look through.
There are also some great definitions of what the ‘Golden Thread’ is. We particularly like Dr Stephen Hamil’s ‘connected construction information’ (Innovation Director at NBS) and Bola Abisogun’s (OBE) ‘The Golden Thread is the information that allows you to understand a building and the steps needed to keep both the building and people safe, now and in the future’ (Digital Director, BIM Academy).
We define the Golden thread as ‘Structured data that is centralised and develops alongside the lifecycle of a product, and is accessible to whoever needs it at the time it is needed’.
